My life was shaped by a love of the great outdoors. I have a creative drive which manifested in writing and photography. Carlsbad, California is home, but I have lived in Ohio, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Tennessee and Connecticut. My parents took me to England when I was 9 and gave me a point and shoot camera. This was probably the launching of both my love of adventure-filled travel and photography, along with the realization that the world is large and I wanted to see it all. My competitive drive and love of sport led to racing triathlon as a pro for six years while juggling owning and running a small family business. During this time I chased dreams (somewhat surprising myself with what I was actually able to accomplish when I believed in myself), raced around the world and captured my adventures in photos.
